Our mission is to empower individuals and families to explore and connect with the outdoors through hands-on education, guided adventures, and gear rentals.By providing the skills and tools needed, we instill people with confidence, ensuring that outdoor exploration is inclusive, attainable, and enriching for all. Little Tykes go on Hikes! Hiking with kids can be an intimidating topic. During this 45 minute course, Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC will be on the trail with little ones and their guardians to tackle some of the most asked questions surrounding taking kids into the woods. Through fun games and hands-on activities, we cover safety, choosing the right trail, packing considerations, and much more! Main Topics: Safety- each child will get a safety whistle to keep Packing Fun on-trail games and activities Leave No Trace ***Recommended age is  3-12 years old, but all ages are welcome- Price is per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 3 years old are free when accompanying another registered child***   Wilderness Navigation: Learning Map and Compass Join Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC as we present an introduction to topographic map and compass- your gateway to mastering outdoor navigation!Learn the essentials of map reading and compass navigation in this 90 minute class. Together we will spend a half an hour in the classroom. There you will learn map components like scale and contour lines, as well as compass parts and techniques such as taking bearings and finding your location on a map. We will then spend a full hour with hands-on field instruction. Here we will put theory into practice and help you gain confidence navigating diverse terrain using your map and compass.Join us to unlock the skills needed to confidently explore the great outdoors!Compasses and classroom materials will be provided for use during the course. If you would like a compass to take home, we have them available for purchase.  ***Recommended age is 12 years and older- Anyone under 18 must be registered accompanied by a registered adult***
